WHAT IS A BIA?
A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is an association of business people within a specified district who join together, with official approval of the City, in a self-help program aimed at stimulating local business.
BIAs use their own money in an ongoing effort to draw more prospective customers to their area by improving the attractiveness of the area and promoting it as a good place to shop, visit and do business. Toronto is now home to more than 80 BIAs.
Founded in 1970 by four industrious local business owners, Bloor West Village was the
first BIA in the world!

400+ retail, restaurants and professional service businesses located on Bloor Street West between Glendonwynne Road and South Kingsway are in the Bloor West Village BIA.

Volunteers with businesses in the Bloor West Village BIA work together to organize.

The volunteer BIA Board is aggressively driving more business to Bloor West Village.

Digital Main Street initiative.
This new program to help local businesses get online provides a free assessment of your online presence and recommendations and connections to vendors.
