Grant program to support Black, Indigenous and other racialized entrepreneurs

The Ontario government announced a new program to help Black, Indigenous and other racialized entrepreneurs start or grow their business. The Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Entrepreneurs (RAISE) Grant Program helps to remove economic barriers by providing funding, training, and culturally-relevant services to entrepreneurs. The RAISE Grant will be delivered through Digital Main Street, the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas, and the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association in collaboration with the Parkdale Centre for Innovation. Successful applicants will receive a $10,000 grant to facilitate innovation and growth as well as training and coaching. Find eligibility requirements and apply.

Local businesses that offer eco-friendly products and services are encouraged to participate in the Live Green Perks program. The City of Toronto program is designed to connect residents with local businesses and is free for both to join. Participating businesses receive free promotion to 80,000 green customers, a listing on a searchable web page, and more. Learn more and register your business.

City of Toronto following provincial guidance to remove most face mask requirements as of March 21

The City of Toronto is following provincial guidance on face masks and lifted the masking requirement for visitors in most City facilities as of Monday, March 21. Masks are no longer required in settings such as retail stores, bars, restaurants, gyms, community centres or museums. Masks will continue to be mandatory in high-risk and congregate settings including on public transit, in long-term care and retirement homes, health-care settings and shelters. The City supports the choice by visitors to City facilities where masks are not required to remain masked, should they prefer.
