IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BIA BUSINESS MEMBERS RE: UKRAINIAN FESTIVAL STREET CLOSURES
Notice from the Toronto Ukrainian Festival - for Bloor West Village BIA Business Members
An application has been granted by the City of Toronto for a Road Closure Permit in Connection with the Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival on Friday September 16, 2022, Saturday September 17, 2022, and Sunday September 18, 2022.
BLOOR STREET WEST WILL BE CLOSED TO All VEHICULAR TRAFFIC:
FROM THE EAST SIDE OF JANE STREET TO THE WEST SIDE OF RUNNYMEDE on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 16th at 9:30am to SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 18th at 11:59pm
A separate sidewalk sale permit for BIA business members has been applied for and to coincide with the festival. The BIA will promote the sidewalk sale on social media.
If you would like to participate in the sidewalk sale, email rachelmahon@bloorwestvillagebia.com as soon as possible. Businesses must supply their own table. Participation includes general business promotions.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
No vehicular traffic will be permitted inside the street event area. Vehicles must be removed by9:30am Friday or they will be towed. All vehicles must remain parked in their driveways or moved outside of the closure area until midnight Sunday. No vehicles will be permitted to park on the street (Emergency and/or City Staff vehicles exempt)
The open curb lanes of Bloor Street West within the closure area must be maintained as an unobstructed Emergency/ Fire Lane at all times. Emergency lanes on side streets are to be kept free and clear as approved by City Officials.
Only establishments licensed to sell food are allowed to prepare or sell food outside their storefront. All businesses are required to have valid permits/ licenses available for inspection upon request
BBQ tables and related cooking materials must be placed in a manner to allow space for a suitable barrier to be erected around the BBQ. A suitable fire extinguisher must be placed no less than 2m and not more than 4.26m from the BBQ.
A-FRAME signs are NOT PERMITTED during Festival
Businesses are responsible for their own waste disposal.No pick-up will occur for business waste on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. Recyclables and organics will be picked up by the City’s Special Events Waste Management staff on each night of the Festival.
The Bloor West Village Area will be supervised by Toronto Police Services and Private Security Firm during the Festival. The organizing committee is making every effort to ensure that the Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival is a positive and enjoyable experience for both business members and residents.
Please note: The Toronto Ukrainian Festival is a separate organization to the Bloor West Village BIA. The BIA’s role is to continue to promote and grow awareness for BIA business members throughout the festival.
