Dear Members, 
Bloor West Village experienced another break-in / vandalism incident early this morning at a mainstreet business.  After speaking with business owners impacted by similar break-in/vandalism incidents over the last couple months, we urge you to ensure all your valuable equipment (credit card terminals, ipads, devices etc.) is out of view from the outside street.  We urge you take time to connect with the Crime Prevention team for prevention assistance and support. Please, please report all incidents to our 11^th Division Crime Prevention team to help inform community policing resource allocation.

**NOTE** We have been experiencing a rise in Pharmacy thefts, we have sent emails with crime prevention tips for our Pharmacy owners.  If you require any information, please reach out to us.

As a reminder:  Our crime prevention office is here to assist any business owner interested in a receiving our FREE security assessment, crime prevention material or anything else that may be of value to our community business owners.    
 
Crime Prevention Weekly Quick Tip Reminder – Consider the following
 
- Installing a monitored alarm system
- Installing CCTV security cameras that recording and store video for 1-2 weeks
- At closing, keep some lighting on within the store, especially the front of the store
- Place empty cash drawer by the front door (No cash on hand)
- Remove any valuables such as IPADS, Computers from view
- Ensure the front and rear doors of the premises are LOCKED when closing
- Register businesses key holder information with our crime prevention office- ( This will assist officers in the event they attend the business during the night and need a contact person)
- Get to know your neighbour – Watch out for each others businesses and report any suspicious activity

It is so important to have a contact name and number registered with our division for every business within our boundaries.  In the event an incident takes place at a business located within our division we may need to contact the owner or manager.  Please email us at 11division@tps.ca and request a Night Directory Listing form to be completed scanned and emailed back to us.
